It was a bachelor’s life for hard-working and fun-loving Ray Ray Dominguez (Joey Dedio) who dreamt of leaving the barrio for a more carefree existence in Miami. That’s until one day when everything changed – and he became a reluctant “Tio Papi” aka Uncle Daddy to his sister’s six children ages 6 to 16. Now, in charge of raising this energetic (and expensive) clan, Ray Ray must make important decisions on what life really is all about. Combining heart-warming drama with light-hearted comedy, TIO PAPI, directed by Fro Rojas from the original screenplay by Joey Dedio and Brian Herskowitz, is an upbeat story of life’s unexpected surprises and ultimately what matters the most – the love of family.

Mocking at religion, flirting with women, in debt with a number of shop-keepers, Raju lives an impoverished lifestyle, and is in love with Lachhi, whose blind Nani does not approve of him. When he finds out that Nani`s landlord, Kalwa, is threatening to evict them unless she comes up with Rs.5000/-, he first attempts to borrow money. Failing in this, he steals it from Rana and goes on the run from the police. He boards a train without a ticket and enters a compartment which has a single occupant, Swami Satyanand, who looks exactly like him. The train has an accident, he takes advantage of this situation, dons the Swami`s guise, and subsequently manages to pull wool over the latter`s devotees - with an agenda of collecting as much cash as possible. He is not aware that Swami has survived the accident, and is being held against his will by Lachhi - and it will not be too long before Raju`s past will catch up with him - and he will have to answer for his crimes.
